Auto cleaning filter (minimizes maintenance)
Panasonic's proprietary auto cleaning filter (ACF) uses a highly efficient electrostatic filter called the micro cut filter. The ACF brushes away dust that adheres to the filter, which helps prevent clogging that can impair operation or cause malfunction. The micro cut filter's superior dust-collecting performance coupled with a dust-resistant design, minimizes brightness loss due to dust accumulation.
Micro cut filter
A high-efficiency electrostatic filter in the air intake section traps dust particles. By capturing approximately 7x as much dust as the previous filters, it guards against optical blocks and reduces the penetration of dust into the interior to provide stable operation.
Dust resistant optical block
The effect of dust has been minimized by completely sealing the optical block. The dust-free design helps ensure that this DLP projector will continue to deliver crisp, sharp, high-resolution images over an extended service life.
Incorporating exclusive Panasonic technology, the dynamic iris opens and closes with exceptional speed and precision as the input signal changes, resulting in accurate, real-time control of the light striking the DLP chips. The dynamic iris is positioned immediately after the light synthesizer and before the integrator, so it has minimal adverse effect on the overall light uniformity across the screen.
Multi projector brightness management
When the projectors are edge blended or displayed next to each other, the multiple projector brightness management feature automatically adjusts the displays' variations in brightness levels to match each other.
DICOM simulation mode
The DICOM simulation mode on the PT-DW8300U simulates the results of a device compliant with the Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) Part 14 standardized display function for the display of grayscale images. When in the DICOM simulation mode, these models can project images such as X-rays, CAT scans, and MRIs in a tone similar to the DICOM standard.
Horizontal/vertical lens shift (powered)
A wide adjustment range for the horizontal/vertical lens shift assures virtually distortion-free images and adds convenience and versatility. You can easily make adjustments with the remote control, making it optimal for ceiling-mounted applications.
The LAN terminals support PJLink class 1 connection. Control with the same specifications is also possible when used in a multi-projector system with projectors of another brand.
The PT-DW8300U can simultaneously display images from two sources onto a single screen. For example, you can display a PC image on the right and a video image on the left. Taking advantage of their wide-screen projection, this function gives you a host of new application possibilities to explore.
3D color management
Compensation provides optimal levels of color saturation, hue, and brightness that were not possible with conventional projectors. Colors approach those of the original image, even on large-screen displays.
Detail clarity processor 3
These models introduce a newly evolved digital image processing circuit, called the detail clarity processor 3. This function analyzes the frequency of the video signal in each scene and extracts information on the distribution of the high-, medium-, and low frequency image components. It then applies appropriate sharpness to each portion of the image based on the extracted information. This brings greater clarity and sharpness to details, by reproducing fine nuances that were lost due to image compression. The resulting images have a more natural, lifelike expression than those of previous image-processing methods.
The AC lamp is used in the PT-DW8300U. The high-efficiency light convergence technology and independently developed color wheel work together to achieve the high brightness of 9,600 lumens for the PT-DW8300U. Clear, crisp images are reproduced even in bright rooms.
Vivid color control
This unique control technology optimizes the use of the color segment areas of the color wheel. It increases the brightness of each RGB color by minimizing the unallocated portions between the colors, to achieve truly vivid coloring.
System Daylight View 2
Screen visibility is lower when a projector is used during daylight hours or in a room with lights on. Panasonic's System Daylight View circuit compensates for these brighter environments, so that images are crisp, clear and easy to see no matter what the conditions. Gamma curves and sharpness, in addition to conventional color correction are adjusted to bring a sense of sharpness to the entire screen and reproduce stunning images with life-like depth. This results in highly comfortable viewing even in bright lighting, and allows viewers to concentrate more easily on the images.
